With reference to your letter of the 11th inst. with regard to the appointment of Corpl. J. Holmes as Trained Hospital Warder in the Govt Hospital at Kowloon, directed by Mr Secretary Chamberlain, I am to request that you will move the Marquess of Lansdowne to call for a report on Corpl. Holmes's fitness for tropical service, if it has not already been done. The report of the medical officer should be forwarded to this Dept. at an early date.
